About
This project will extend the northbound and southbound left turn lanes on Branch Forbes Road approaching the interstate.
Also, new traffic signals will be added to both the eastbound and westbound exit ramps to Branch Forbes Road, and a right-turn lane will be added to the eastbound exit ramp from I-4.
Construction activities are expected to finish during summer of 2026.

Eastbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Branch Forbes Road Closing Sunday Night
Plant City, FL – A temporary closure of the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Branch Forbes Road will occur from 9 p.m., Sunday, April 19, to 6 a.m., Monday, April 20, weather permitting.
Motorists needing to access eastbound I-4 will have to turn onto Hillsborough Avenue (US 92), turn left onto Thonotosassa Road, and proceed toward the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.
Advanced warning signs and message boards will be used to assist motorists during this detour. Drivers use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.
This nighttime ramp closure is necessary for paving for the I-4 interchange improvement project at Branch Forbes Road (Exit 17) in Plant City, Hillsborough County.
